Paul Golf

A highly skilled strategic thinker and cross-cultural communications specialist with experience across a broad range of industries in the commercial, academic, and third sector. Paul sees through problems to formulate innovate solutions and help teams develop greater impact by combining intuitive and systems-science approaches to operational strategy.

Organizations must be positively transformative while remaining focused on generating sales or impact. He is a collegiate leader who draws out the best in employees and knows how to balance reflection and action in decision making, with an approach that is both integrative and divergent.

In addition to Katena, Paul is an Associate Professor in Translation and Enterprise at the University of Bristol and consults in geopolitical analysis and intercultural communication for the think tank, Oxford House Research. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and has a keen interest in international development, especially green technologies.

Rachel Molano-James

Rachel is a skilled strategist with an academic background in cross-cultural studies. She holds a First Class degree from Warwick University and an MA with Distinction from Bath University. For the past eight years, she has worked at the intersection of politics, business, civil society, and humanitarian work, addressing systemic issues in Britain and abroad. Recently, she played key roles in the Bristol Mayor's successive election campaigns, created and led a successful rescue and resettlement program for Ukrainian refugees, and developed strategic solutions for minorities affected by the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Rachel has always hade a broad and international perspective, having lived in both the US and Latin America and worked on humanitarian projects around the world. Passionate about bridging cultural, political, religious, and economic divides, she is able to formulate innovative solutions for operational strategy from a big picture perspective by drawing on her broad experience at both grassroots and leadership levels. She has provided consultancy on issues as diverse as housing, project management, migration, and helping organisations engage effectively with government. As well as Katena, Rachel consults for the think tank Oxford House Research. Rachel is fluent in Spanish, lives in Bristol with her husband and enjoys watching football, travelling and adventure sports.
